In 1906, Harry Thaw shot prominent architect Stanford White in the middle of a crowded performance at Madison Square Garden. Thaw had become obsessed by the news that White had raped his wife, Evelyn Nesbit as a sixteen year old. This was a case that shocked New York high society.
